Old-School Chess Game
This OLD-school game runs up through Windows-10 (32 bit). I wrote it in 1973 in FORTRAN, updated in 1977, and again in 1981, long before the IBM PC existed (1983). In 2014, I converted it to Windows 32-bit (It has problem with 64-bit Windows). Download Chess2014.zip file. Extract all to the default folder of \Desktop\CHESS2014. Open that new Desktop folder. Copy the Chess2014 Shortcut to Desktop. Left Click that shortcut. Change font size within the Shortcut properties Font tab. New player? Mouse click on WHITE. Choose easiest level. It does NOT cheat with a moves database, but follows the identical chess rules as yourself. Thus, you CAN beat it! |
